One Book One School 2026-27
Rohrer Middle School is pleased to announce that we will be participating in a One Book, One School program again for the 2026-2027 school year.
One Book, One School is a program designed to create a shared reading experience within a school community. When an entire school reads the same book, the buzz and excitement around the book augments these benefits. Reading a book together brings the added joy of building and expanding a sense of community among students, parents, teachers, and staff – and beyond.
All Sixth, Seventh and Eighth grade students are expected to read The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl, by Stacy McAnulty over the summer. Students have all received a packet of mandatory summer work, which is due on the first day of school: Thursday, September 3, 2026. This packet is graded and will be used as the basis for an in-class writing evaluation within the first two weeks of school.
Again, to be prepared for our Fall 2026 activities, the expectation is all students will read The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl, by Stacy McAnulty.
We wish you a wonderful summer full of relaxation and adventures!
